Free email verifier
Check if an email address is valid before you send: format, domain mail servers, disposable and role-based detection — in seconds.
What this email checker looks at
Every check runs in real time and no email is sent to the address:
- Format (syntax) — whether the address follows the email standard (RFC 5322), including the local part, the @ sign and the domain.
- Domain and mail servers — whether the domain exists and publishes MX records, which is what allows it to receive email.
- Disposable providers — temporary inbox services that people use to avoid giving a real address.
- Role-based addresses — shared inboxes such as info@, sales@ or support@, which behave differently from personal addresses.
- Typos — common misspellings of large providers, such as “gmial.com”.
When to verify email addresses
Verify before your first send to an imported or older list, after collecting addresses at events or checkout, and whenever bounce rates start to climb. High bounce rates are one of the clearest signals mailbox providers use to judge a sender, so removing bad addresses protects the reputation of your domain.
Verify an entire list
Checking one address at a time is fine for a quick test. For real lists, InboxRoads bulk verification takes a CSV upload, removes duplicates and malformed addresses for free, and gives you verified, invalid and risky files to download. Read how to verify an email list for a step-by-step guide.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. You can check individual addresses without an account (limited to a fair number of checks per day). To verify a whole list, create an InboxRoads account and use credits — 1 credit per address, duplicates and malformed addresses are free.
No. It checks the address format, the domain’s mail servers (MX records), and known disposable and role-based patterns. No message is sent and the owner is not notified.
Not on its own. Mailbox-level checks need a conversation with the receiving mail server, which many providers deliberately block or answer ambiguously (for example catch-all domains). For list cleaning, InboxRoads can use a dedicated verification provider for mailbox checks.
Results are cached briefly to prevent abuse and then discarded. They are not added to any list or used for marketing.
Verify your whole list, not just one address
Upload a CSV and InboxRoads checks every address, removes duplicates for free and gives you clean files to download.
