Verify an email list
Upload a CSV, paste addresses or pick an existing list, check the exact credit cost, and let verification run in the background.
Verifying a list before you send removes addresses that would bounce and protects your sender reputation. InboxRoads always shows you the exact cost before charging any credits.
Start a verification job
- Click Email verification in the sidebar, then New verification. You can also use Verify emails on the dashboard.
- Under 1. Choose your source, pick one:
- Upload CSV for a CSV or TXT file. We use the column named "email". If there isn't one, we use the first column that contains an @. The maximum file size is shown on the page.
- Paste emails, one per line or separated by commas.
- Existing list to verify contacts you already have in a list.
- Under 2. Add addresses, choose your file, paste your addresses or select the List.
- Optionally, enter a Job name so you can find the job later.
- Click Continue.
Shortcut: On any list's page, click Verify list to skip straight to the cost preview.
Check the cost and confirm
InboxRoads reads your input first and removes duplicates and malformed addresses. Then you see:
- Addresses found. Everything in your input.
- Duplicates & bad syntax (free). Removed and never charged.
- To verify. Unique, well-formed addresses.
- Credits required. One credit per address to verify.
If your balance covers it, click Start verification · N credits. If not, the page shows how many more credits you need and a Buy credits button.
Nothing is charged until you click start. If you change your mind, you can Delete the job at this stage.
While it runs
- Verification runs in the background. You can close the page or keep working.
- The Progress card updates by itself and shows how many addresses have been checked.
- Need to stop? Click Cancel job. Checks already done are charged, and all unused credits are returned right away.
- When the job finishes, you get an email titled "Verification completed: [job name]" with a summary and a Download results button. You also get an in-app notification.
What InboxRoads checks
Every address goes through syntax, domain and MX-record checks, a check against a list of disposable-email domains, and role-address detection (such as info@ or sales@). Mailbox-level checks are added when the platform has an external verification provider connected. InboxRoads doesn't probe mailboxes over SMTP from its own servers.
